Recap of Magic Show in the U.S. – Liyu New Materials Explores New Opportunities in Footwear Materials
Recently, the internationally renowned footwear and apparel exhibition, Sourcing at Magic, concluded successfully in Las Vegas, U.S. As a supplier dedicated to footwear material R&D, Liyu New Materials participated in the event with the goal of engaging in direct dialogue with global footwear manufacturers and brands, showcasing our ecofriendly and highperformance material technologies, and exploring collaboration opportunities.
Sourcing at Magic
As a premier annual event for the finished footwear industry, the exhibition attracted numerous longterm trading partners and brand procurement teams. Onsite discussions primarily revolved around footwear selection and order negotiations, with the audience heavily focused on the finished footwear sector. Observations revealed that most attendees gathered in the finished footwear section, where brand buyers and traders engaged in indepth discussions on shoe design and order volumes, further highlighting the exhibition’s strong vertical influence in this segment.
Our Booth
At this year’s show, we highlighted five key materials:
Vegan Leather Composite Sole – A sole material with grain patterns rivaling genuine leather and superior physical properties.
BioBased Material – An ecofriendly, sustainable sole material with up to 93% biobased content and excellent performance.
HighFoam Material – A lightweight, skinfriendly sole with longlasting shape retention, ideal for trending footwear.
Classic Rubber Sole (Unit Sole) – A costeffective, recyclable sole material with diverse print effects.
PU Foam Insole – An insole material with over 70% rebound rate, outstanding compression resistance, and high elasticity for cushioning.
Customer Engagement: InDepth Discussions & Potential Collaborations
During the exhibition, we held multiple technical exchanges with finished footwear manufacturers and brands from the U.S., Mexico, Europe, and South America. Many clients showed strong interest in the cost efficiency and production stability of ecofriendly materials and requested specific testing. Notably, a U.S. brand invited us to collaborate on their 2025 new collection, leading to discussions on custom material solutions.
These interactions not only provided clearer insights into customer needs but also laid a solid foundation for future partnerships. We have since initiated a customized followup plan, offering tailored samples and technical support based on client requirements.
Through exhibition interactions, we identified two major industry trends:
Accelerated Adoption of EcoFriendly Materials – Brands are setting stricter requirements for recycled content and sustainability certifications.
Functional Specialization – The sports and outdoor sectors are demanding more quantifiable metrics for shock absorption, slip resistance, etc.
These trends align closely with Liyu New Materials’ longterm R&D focus. Moving forward, we will continue to enhance material performance, uphold our sustainable development principles, and provide endtoend support from R&D to mass production to help clients tackle market challenges.
Looking Ahead: ActionOriented Growth & Empowering Partners
While the exhibition has ended, our exploration and collaboration are just beginning. Next steps include:
Providing custom samples and test reports for clients with clear needs.
Arranging oneonone technical consultations with our engineering team.
Continuously sharing industry insights and innovation cases to empower partners.
